Ch Jacquet’s Pinot Noir, CD, RN, TT

Pinot is a wonderful working dog with a solid temperament and that bit of an edge that makes her a really fun dog to work with.   She’s all “red headed” girl and Queen “B” of the house.   Pinot loves to work and refuses to allow any slacking off in that area!   I even hear about it if we’re late getting to class!  Once she’s run and worked for the day,  she’s very happy to snuggle up on the couch and have some cuddles.  If she’s not worked,  she finds a “project”.

Pinot was just over a year old when she passed her Temperament Test in 2006.  While young,  she was very solid in all parts of the test including the “aggressive stranger”.  She held her ground, maintained eye contact, and didn’t back down when pressured.

Pinot was owner handled to all of her conformation points.   While she’s a drivey little working gal,  she didn’t really enjoy the conformation ring and refused to give any effort for anyone but me in the ring.   So,  despite my best efforts to the contrary,  I ended up spending more time in the conformation ring than I had ever wished or intended!  Pinot started and finished her conformation career with 5 point wins in 2006.  Her last 5 points were won out of a class of 14 bitches, including specials.

Pinot debuted in Novice B a bit early in 2008 in order to get her ready for the American Boxer Club Nationals in Kentucky in May/08.  She did a super job in Kentucky.  On the first day, she had lost only 1 point up to the recall exercise.  Unfortunately,  her enthusiasm got the better of her and she had a bit of a "hit and miss" on her recall for 4 points.  However,  we were thrilled to end up with a 195.   The majority of her points were lost on the last day due to missed sits.  She was in a 3 way run-off for 2nd place and came in second in the run-off.  You can see pictures of Pinot working here.   Pinot is now working on polishing her open work and we hope to hit the open ring in the fall/08.
