I wasn't looking for a Penner to come into my life but he arrived anyway.   I first met Penner when he was a terrified 4 month old puppy shaking on his blanket in the corner of his Calgary Humane Society pen.  He had been abused and then further traumatized by a series of exams and tests administered to him to determine if he was "adoptable".  He failed pretty much all of the tests and was slated to be put down because there was no hope for this 4 month old puppy to be salvaged.   Penner definately has some quirks but he's overall one of the funniest and smartest dogs I've ever met.  He's snuggly and goofy and silly.  He loves to have a bath and have his hair combed.  He's first on the grooming table for the weekly "mani-pedi" session.  He's my welcome committee for rescue dogs who come through the door and he's developing into a really neat agility dog.
